Green Way™ is an L.A. based non-profit organization dedicated to improving our urban way of life by restoring nature’s services in Los Angeles and other cities. Through the transformation of city neighborhoods, Green Way restores the natural cycle of water as the catalyst for community-based environmental stewardship. Created as an outgrowth of the long standing L.A. based environmental non-profit, North East Trees, Green Way™ represents a new way of doing business, and a new ‘Way’ of life.

“Green Way™” will ensure that every project, whether it be a pocket park, trail or a Green Street, will provide multiple benefits to the environment and the public. A park is more than a park with native trees and plants, picnic areas and playfields – it can also provide the added benefit of cleaning urban storm water runoff, while being created through the efforts of Community Stewards. These same Stewards contribute to the sustainability of their creation as a community resource on into the future.”

Green Way L.A.™ objectives are to look carefully at all urban infrastructure improvement projects through a new lens that first asks the question: How can we restore nature’s services while providing for the public, health and welfare of the community? While this may obviously apply to a park, trail or watershed restoration project, it should also apply to any project -- a bridge retrofit project, a freeway interchange improvement project or any street improvement project. This is about a true transformation from compromising “nature’s services” to embracing “nature’s services” as the new paradigm for all urban infrastructure development.
